Find ANZAC Day events happening around the Wheatbelt
Every year on the 25th of April, Australians and New Zealanders come together to celebrate Anzac Day. This special day wasn’t always known as Anzac Day – it was officially given this name in 1916 as a tribute to those who fought in the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. Anzac Day has since evolved to become a day where we honour and reflect upon the sacrifices that our military personnel have made to protect our freedoms. Although it began as a way to commemorate the lives lost in the First World War, it now encompasses all Australians who have been killed in military operations. Anzac Day is not only a time for reflection, but also a reminder of our shared history and the courage and sacrifices made by those who came before us.
