Avon Descent Race

Experience the thrilling two-day Avon Descent course, starting in Northam, just 100km east of Perth.

Day 1 takes you through the picturesque town of Toodyay and the stunning Darling Range escarpment, with an overnight stop at Cobbler Pool.

Day 2 is packed with excitement as participants take on the challenging whitewater obstacles of Supershoot, Emu Falls, Championship Rapids, and Bells Rapids.

The final stretch is a marathon 30km of flat water to Bayswater, where the victors cross the Finish Line and achievers can proudly say they finished.

Since its humble beginnings in 1973 with only 49 competitors and no rules or officials, the Avon Descent has grown to include over 35,000 participants. From novice paddlers to world champions and Olympic athletes, this iconic event attracts individuals from all walks of life.

The Avon Descent weekend is a highly anticipated event that attracts hundreds of powercraft and paddlecraft enthusiasts from all around.

With a variety of different challenges and activities, there is something for everyone, regardless of their experience or ability.
